A Seat at The Table: Release the Bill. Release the People.

Yesterday, a rally was held on the Capitol lawn, demanding the release of the Senate's proposed healthcare bill. Further, participants also came together to fight for the protection of services and funds under the threat of cuts, caps, or complete dismantling. Senators in attendance guaranteed an unending commitment to preventing the passage of the bill, along with a dedication to advocacy and accessible healthcare.

Today, the secret was out, and the text of the bill (often known as Trumpcare) was released. A bevy of reactions quickly ensued, including a die-in by ADAPT activists in Senator Mitch McConnell's office. McConnell was on the floor during this protest, but that did not stop over 60 activists from gaining the attention of on site staff, witnesses, and media outlets. Here is footage from CNN, previously broadcast via Facebook Live. Responses in support of protesters flooded social media platforms, including tweets from other senators, such Bernie Sanders, encouraging McConnell to hear their voices.
